date night : burger bar {mmmm}

kel and i had another date night tonight. we've been doing these every few weeks, and it's even more important since she's moving to boston soon {tears}.

these date nights tend to start like this:

and quickly devolve into this:

tonight we went to hubert keller's new restaurant in union square, burger bar. this is a ridiculous experience where you can build your own burger with extreme ingredients...buffalo, lobster, truffles, you name it. they also boast alcoholic milkshakes...how genius is that?

{above: mint chocolate chip/oreo milkshake with vodka+liqueurs. organic beef burger with bleu cheese, peppered bacon, carmelized onions, and peppercorn sauce on ciabatta. mmmm.}

so, so yummy. and we cared way more about our milkshake than our food. after stuffing ourselves, we still managed to fit in a little shopping {for bathing suit coverups, no less} immediately after. don't usually get that on dates with our boys...haha.
