i bid on this amazing necklace at the silent auction of the japan relief event but left before the auction closed. i assumed i had lost, but much to my surprise, i got an email over the weekend that this stunner was mine!

it's handmade by yellybelle designs with freshwater pearls, silk ribbon, & a beautiful brooch. yelena {the designer} was even there when i picked it up tonight, and she is just as lovely as you'd expect. it feels so special...and my purchase was made with a happy heart, knowing it was going to shelterbox.

i realized as i was wearing it that i could go traditional {left}, or play with the silk to make the brooch fasten in the back, with more of a choker look {right}. i think i like the latter even more!
