on a happier note.

last night i finally saw country strong, after 4 weeks of obsessively watching this video:

yes, i am in love with both of these people. however, i am not in love with tim mcgraw's hair plugs, nor gwyneth's existence. still managed to swoon throughout 70% of the film though, so i'd say it was a success.

stress.

this weekend i was planning on:

- leisurely mornings of sleeping in & gym
- seeing country strong
- organizing my closet
- visiting the disney museum in the presidio
- finishing some work before monday
- squeezing in a couple fun photoshoots

instead, i am:

- freaking out about finding a new apartment
- refreshing craigslist every 34 seconds
- driving aimlessly looking for "for rent" signs in good neighborhoods

kill me!

lake tahoe: day 2

on the second day of our trip we went to beautiful squaw valley {home of the 1960 winter olympics AND my parents' wedding - woo!}. we took the gondola up to high camp to check out the views and ice skate at their amazing mountaintop rink.
lauren's a regular oksana baiul.
{we are on skates, hence our odd hugging position}
after awhile on the ice we headed inside for hot chocolate and people-watching.
and finally cozied up to some local beer and burgers at fifty-fifty.

chinese tea ceremony: josephine & milo

i had the honor of photographing jo & milo's chinese tea ceremony {part of their amazing wedding weekend}. it was so neat to see the family traditions and beautiful details, from josephine's gown to the tea set to the jewelry she received. what a gorgeous day!

looks like barbie with the soul of mother theresa.

me: let's have a bachelor party!
cody: [excitedly] OKAY!
me: ...i mean, a party to watch the bachelor.
cody: oh.

thoughts from last night:
  • who knew the vampire could be so rational?
  • too many ashleys, too many chantals, too many dad issues.
  • emily literally does "look like barbie with the soul of mother theresa." let's just end the show now with brad proposing to her and save ourselves the torture {...i don't mean this, i love the torture}. also, note her occupation. this is the opposite of "chantal the funeral director":

  • michelle. oh michelle. hope this is an act. if not, perhaps someone should hand her dvds of the past 14 seasons so she can understand that things like "evil group dates" and "other women" are a part of the deal.

counting down to next week!

san francisco wedding: emily & chris

in november i shot a gorgeous wedding that took place on a boat in the bay! emily & chris are brave souls who took a chance with winter weather, but we were rewarded with one afternoon of sunshine in the middle of 5 days of rain. fabulous!
the boat stopped for the ceremony right next to angel island. schools of dolphins swam by, and it was so beautiful! i got to stand ON TOP of the boat. woo.
after the ceremony everyone celebrated with champagne, dinner & cupcakes...but mostly everyone wanted to be outside, splashing and rocking on the bow. too much fun.
and how about this view as we got back to the harbor?

congratulations, emily & chris!

in the key of kate spade.

i spent the second half of my lunch hour browsing cute keychains online. yep, i know how lame that sounds. conclusion - there are no cute ones unless they're made by kate spade and are $50, aka 10x my desired price range.

new goal: recreate this for $5 using a foot of ribbon and an old keychain. this will be done!

january in paris.

sorting through old pictures and remembered how absolutely magical paris was in winter. freezing, crisp, and yet full of life. and yes...we bundled up for ice cream in winter.

mini love.

i'm totally enjoying being an obsessive mini owner now. we'll see how quickly i get over parking a half mile away from every establishment. gotta avoid any scratches! {...said the girl who lives and parks in san francisco}.

a few lovely mini photos for this happy friday...
